Why are there still no dating sim elements in the mainline games? They know damn well that most over the age of 10 only care about the human characters now.

Slightly related but back in 2017 or so Intelligent Systems gave an interview where they said they wanted to make a new Advance Wars game but the huge popularity of Fire Emblem has shown them how important dating sim elements were and they weren't sure how to incorporate dating sims into a new advance wars game

They should make certain characters romancible. Like having certain dialog options, with characters liking certain responses [a character might like tou joking with then, but another might not like overt flirting] that make them like you more or less, have locations you can take them to on dates, and each character has things they like and dislike to do that can eventually lead to them accepting being your boyfriend/girlfriend if their affection gets to a certain point.

It sad to see how far intelligent systems has fallen in terms of what they used to do. They did the dating sim thing as a joke back in 2007 and now they literally won't make a game unless they can squeeze them in somehow.
