Even though we didn't fight the fused form itself a Pokemon game has never had a more hype climax than the final confrontation with Lusamine.

I don't care about the twist, the atmosphere and build-up towards the climax is infinitely superior to that of SM's story, which is a complete joke. Not fighting the actual Lusamine fusion is so counter-intuitive to the storytelling that it completely destroys any sense of hype (as if there was any to begin with) present in the moment.

The Delta episode was very hit and miss, mostly miss, but the fight with Deoxys was a great surprise and a good climax as well.
