I have played through Platinum with all these teams and I was very happy with the synergy and balance in all of them.

Infernape, Roserade, Gastrodon, Magnezone, Honchkrow (transferred), Froslass

I also did the most basic ass team ever once with Infernape, Staraptor, Luxray, Floatzel, Roserade, Garchomp. It's basic and steamrolling and shows no creativity and yadayada. But I did like that you could have five of six members before the second gym, four before the first and the whole crew before the third and still have a balanced team. Even with just one special attacker, it's still no problem. It felt rewarding having so many teammates from those low levels, getting then all in their first stage and evolve them.

I tried for a Dusknoir but I just got lazy because I barely remembered to go back and catch a duskull late in the game (right before I decided to use frosslass instead).

I don't know. I haven't played through Sinnoh in over a decade because I can't seem to create a team that interests me enough to slog through it. There are few Sinnoh Pokemon I dislike but for some reason I just can't get hyped about any of them.
