It was UU because the Mega completely outclasses it. Mega Scizor is amazing in OU. Regular Scizor not so much.

HDB and Nasty Plot plus even potential Weather Ball on rain (?) is definitely too much for OU. Was already one of the best Knock Off users and now Knock Off is more spammable than ever.

Probably gonna stay inevitable legal for like 3 weeks though despite it being clearly broken from day 1 because people are used to it being in OU from the previous two gens.

Scizor doesn't run much speed EVs when using U-Turn, especially not enough to outpace Zone. The whole reason you use U-Turn on Scizor is for the slow momentum.

I'd say that heattom has just better typing defensive wise. Resists fairy, ground (immunity) grass, electric, steel, fire, bug flying and ice. Three to four of which are very common offensive attacks (it also checks volc if it has nasty plot/toxic and magearna which is everywhere right now. Also doesnt take much from u turn.) Compare this to Wash's water, electric, flying, ground, ice and steel and you can see how oven is a better defensive pivot than wash. Doesnt help that the moves wash resists is not prevalent right now compared to oven. Also heat has a better offensive typing than wash.
