This is legitimately false. There is zero reason why Stealth Rock had to deal typed damage. It could have just as easily been a direct upgrade to Spikes and dealt neutral percent-based damage to everything.

And nearly everything that learns Defog had to sacrifice a massive chunk of it's health to swap in and remove it. Knock Off is just as much of a fair counter as Defog was. Even better possibly as it actually fucking deals damage instead of just wasting a turn to clear hazards like Defog did.

Name one fucking Pokemon who was DESIGNED to be checked by stealth rock. This is the dumbest fucking argument I've ever seen. There is no fucking way in hell that Gamefreak designed anything to be checked by rocks because they have NEVER cared about 6v6 singles and rocks are fucking useless in doubles and 3v3 singles.

That's why Smogon and the Pokemon games in general are shit. The 6v6 format is a flawed system regarding competitivity and balance because it rewarding mindless strategies.

That's why the main-portions of the games are so easy because of this. Other JRPGs are so much better at this BECAUSE of your party-count never goes above four and limited resources require you to THINK. The reason why Pokemon has any competitive value at all is because TPC are ripping off other JRPGs' systems when formating the VCG-format. Otherwise Pokemon and its community would be a laughing-stock like Nintendo in general (Super Smash Bros Melee is a clear exception though because the entire game itself is retard filter).
