I fucking hate this sentiment. The vague humanoid designs are what gave the type its identity and quirk. If you like the animalistic designs, that's fine, I like some of them too. But I've been a fighting type fan since gen 1 and I hate nu fans who come in because of furry anthro and then shit on the original designs.

You have to acknowledge that the later gen fighting types have more appeal though. Earlier gen fighting types like the hitmons are kind of weird and off putting, as well as Throh/Sawk which are more recent.

Machamp I've never seen anyone shit on though. Old and new fans both love that guy.

Seems like its more according to your own tastes then the fandom. I've not seen anyone say Shield Doggo is a good design, its pretty stupid actually. I've never heard complaints about the Hitmons. Falinks, Bewear, Hawlucha, Heracross and Infernape are pretty well liked too.

Like I said, I like many of the new designs as well and it's fine if they prefer that. But to go out of their way and constantly shit on the other humanoid designs is just annoying to me
