>>44288216If you use Charizard you are just going to spam ember and slash until you get flamethrower, you may use dig here but it won't do much to rock types that can't hit you with rock moves as your ember already targets their low special being a 2hko anyways.
If you play blue you can say that lv 17 sandshrew does a better job at being Charizard than Charizard.
I kinda prefer blastoise, there's ice beam, body Slam and surf/bublebeam available to you quite early to replace water gun, heck you can go dig for a change if you really want although I normally save it for Nidoran/Sandshrew.
Bulbasaur is the one in an odd place, no dig shenanigans, only body Slam at SS Anne and despite razor leaf being broken one could argue that Victreebel does a better job despite being a bit slower.
