Mind you I quit OU in Gen 8 and am a scrub in VGC, so this idea is moreso a wouldnt-it-be-cool-if scenario. I just wanna see GF change something substancial about the battlesystem
>every type now gets terrain or weather
>a bigger difference between terrain or weather: weather affects both sides of the field while terrain
>rocky terrain replaces stealth rock, it still does damage to pokemon entering the field, including flying/levitating pokemon but now it is limited to 5-8 turns at a time
>poisonous terrain replaces toxic spikes
>the existence of two terrains on the field at the time introduces a bit more strategy into the game, you could get rid of stealth rocks on your side by setting up terrains that buff
>you could also get rid of your opponents buff by setting up a debuff instead
>more weather/terrain types would maybe make the meta more diverse rather than seeing the same rain, sandstorm and sun all the time
