My very first shiny (aside of red Gyarados in the previous playthrough), a Pidgey I found near Cherrygrove City in Gold. I loved watching its and its evolutions' sprites, fuck you GF for not let me transfer it over.

I had a similar experience in Sword, I already had a Shiinotic but I needed Morelull just for pokedex entry. The first and only egg I got for it was a shiny one.
Didn't have the shiny charm yet of course but the Ditto was Jap so I got lucky with the Masuda.

VC releases transfer HA pokemon every time. Easiest shinies with a shiny parent, look up how to glitch a foreign Ditto. IVs are slightly different, tied to gender.

No HA, use RNG abuse methods or inject with PKHex/Eon Timer.

No HA, easy shinies with Cute charm glitch.

Yes HAs, hit or miss methods. Easiest is 1/512 odds in XY's Safari Zone with HA (needs Shiny charm?).

My favorite non hunted shiny was a Baltoy I found randomly playing emerald way back when it was first out, my favorite hunted shiny is either Chandelure which I've hunted 3 separate times, Celebi because of the difficulty, or Lugia since it was my first shiny legendary and I got it in like 9 resets or something

The point I was trying to make was that I live in a normal place (i.e. not Uganda as you asked) and pokemon (besides go) is not popular enough to be noticed by people who aren't specifically looking for it. Even go only shows up on the news because of dumb pedestrians getting into accidents. Anyway, I digress. Can somebody tell me what attributes a shiny pokemon has in the latest generation? The answer on the internet seems vague.

other than event shinies
my first shiny was a torchic from an egg when i *tried* to breed a good blaziken in ORAS
my second shiny was a stunfisk i got in a random encounter
