Does anyone else do this?
I'm close to 20 pokemon that can be used in OU but just can't find myself willing to go in the online battles.

I haven't done competitive stuff at all since Gen1 so all the abilities and whatnot is still really new to me.
My actual team building is pretty bad right now. I'm just making pokemon with perfect IV and EV. I like grinding with it being battle tower, breeding, or raids to get them right sets for my guys.

I haven't played since ORAS, but I totally feel you OP. I always had way more fun breeding, training, and theorycrafting than actually battling. On the occasions that I would battle my friends, it was really fun because my team would just be a complete wild card of random selections from my ~40 trained mons.

I can't really find any fun from battling my friends. They just casually build their teams and usually bring their in game team to the battles so I just clean house with just one or two mons unless they use some legendary mons.

I live to have a box littered with battle ready Pokemon just so I can collage together a team for random pvp fights that arise. I just like the idea of pulling from a pool to make a team, yknow?

Is VGC an actual better format?

There's no point to building for "OU" in the actual game, battle spot and free battle meta are completely different.
