If you're talking anime then Ash is anime version of Red so eventually he will be the strongest trainer (how ever long that takes). As for the games Lance was already beaten by both Red and Blue canonically so calling him the strongest would be weird, and game Red could still be the strongest if they really are bringing him to Galar in the DLC. Since SM didn't allow for a 2v2 with some Alola character vs Red and Blue maybe SwSh will let us team up with Leon vs Red and Blue.

Red is part of the champions tournament in BW2 and he canonically did become champion as referenced in GSC and Blue telling the player that he and Red are also champions. Besides Red has 3 mega evolutions in SM/USUM, Charizard, Venusaur, and Blastoise.
