So still to this day I am having trouble understanding this. What makes Ultra Beasts what they are and what makes Pokémon different? Are they Pokémon? What is the line between an Ultra Beast and a Pokémon? They’re obviously different. Especially how they don’t resemble Pokémon at all almost. Look at Guzzlord. I’ve been wondering about this again because we know we are getting them all back in the Crown Tundra DLC.

UBs are pokemon, yeah. But they are pokemon from alternate universes/dimensions where pokemon developed in a different way. It's like if tomorrow someone finds the way to bring a dinosaur or a real dragon from another reality, they'd be really different from our regular animals.

They now have Pokedex entries so they are now from a lore standpoint, though their existence is probably still obscure from the masses. Gameplay wise, exactly the same

Aren't the Sun and Moon legendary technically Ultra Beast? I wonder if the Beast Ball would have an effect on them if you cheated one in.

I like the idea that all Pokemon were originally something like "Ultra Beasts" that just adapted to the world they live in and basically "went native." There's the idea there that with enough time spent in whatever Poke-earth is called, an Ultra Beast would stop being an Ultra Beast and would just become an ordinary Pokemon.

Yes. They are descendants of the Pokémon who were followers of Giratina, and like Giratina were locked away to other Dimensions, then eons of breeding without Shitmons diluting them resulted in the Min-Maxed creatures known as UBs.

This is why there is only one UB type in each Ultra Space, now you may ask about Ultra Megalopolis and Necrozma, but that is because it was designed top be Necrozmas personal hell.

It is a story mechanic difference, In Lore the Cosmog line(s) and Necrozma are bascially all UBs due being Dimensional Travellers who fuck around in Ultra Space and with wormholes, but Beast Ball does not work it's multiplier on them. Necrozma has a 255(Max) Catchrate in USUM though. People argued a bit about this back and forth and inconsistency before USUM.

t. Guy who traded over Beast Balls to be able to catch them in them cause Beast balls suit their designs.

They and Necrozma aren't. The headcanon I've seen is that they've been on the main world for a long while.
