(The meta reason is that the writers needed a way to bring Dawn back for a cameo, but in universe it's kinda fishy that a 10 year old girl was hanging out at grown ass woman's house). In the anime nobody raises an eye to this(obviously) and the plot just continues, like...whatever. But if you actually think about the implications...
