Only in official formats. What made Tyranitar king of the rock types was setting up its own sand but with Dynamax everyone can do that. Sand + solid rock + Dynamax HP makes this thing actually tanky as hell while dishing out great damage. You can also get away with Weakness Policy much easier than on TTar. STAB Earthquake is also pretty good.

Rhyperior hits harder, has better coverage options, and has solid rock which enables weakness policy sets. Without Pursuit Tyranitar falls below it.
