>>44370485If you like playing casually with a lot of characters, try Smash 4 and Ultimate.
If you like the quality single player content, play 64, Smash 4 (3DS), and Melee. (but not Brawl, SSE really isn't worth it despite the hype for it.)
If you like competitive Smash, and hopefully don't end up becoming a smelly pedo, play Melee, P+, and Ultimate.
If you like fangames, try SSB Crusade or Flash 2. To better compare the fangames, Crusade is Alpha 3/CvS2 and Smash Flash 2 is Third Strike. Both are great.
If you like mods, modify Brawl and 64. (Project Plus and Smash Remix are recommended)
If you like Melee but just want that old school 64 gameplay/aethethic itch, modify Melee for SSB Melee 64. Newest update includes Hybrid 64 as a optional gameplay feature, where you can play the game like in 64.
If you like Brawl or Project M, but think it should be 150% more Melee, modify Brawl for Smash 2. Current update reverted a lot of stuff including the Menu, which is a near-copy of Melee's old menu.
If you want to mod Ultimate, i prefer waiting for a bit until there's safer methods to mod a Switch. However, there's something called HDR: Soul Remix, which makes Ultimate a better experience to play.
If you like Smash-likes, Rivals of Aether and Slap City are highly recommended. Icons: Definitive Edition also exists, desipte its infamous history with the Smash modding community, they fixed up a lot of stuff despite being defunct for a successor title.
If you're curious of other Smash-likes, PSASBR and Cartoon Network Punch Time Explosion XL exists. But its not worth the bother.
