What if you're raising a Ghost type special attacker before they get Shadow Ball? Your only other option is Hex, if your Pokemon even gets it.

Essentially, Game Freak just made it so Ghost is a de facto physical attacking type like Gens 1 - 3, but with Shadow Ball and Hex for variety.

Because they keep trying to make the shill rat good, but with its stats, that's entirely impossible.

Look out for Gen 11 when Lightball doubles not only attack and special attack, but speed, defense, and special defense as well.
