No, the most optimal way to use Specs Charizard is to spam your fire moves so you have room to slap something like Roost on it if you feel like it. You don't really need extra coverage. Might as well try Roost on some turns in order to heal up or abuse the fact that you lost Specs. And yes, sometimes you're gonna lose your item, it's going to happen.

Weather ball and overheat makes sense, as you can pick between maximum power now but cutting spa, or staying in for longer.

As for the flamethrower, i'm not sure. Maybe if you dont have the sun up but still want to stay in longer? That still sound like buiding to fail though. At that point you just want to nuke whatever it is with overheat and get your weather setter out.

Charizard only needs focus blast for tyranitar, it can threaten the entire tier with sun boosted fire moves, which is why it has the luxury of running 2 fire moves.

Roost is supposed to be a situational move, it is run only because it is literally more useful than any other attacking move because Charizard does not need coverage

Why do people pretend that specs set having roost on a frail mon that possibly can use it to heal the rock/spike/possible predicted move damage on a pokemon that hopefully has cookie cutter sets is a super high IQ play? It is unnecesarily convoluted and is more likely to cause tripping the moment something the calculator heads are not used to shows up. I already fucking hate OU for how asinine and anti-anti-anti meta some top sets are but this just seems to show how deep this shit has gone.
Is defending it just internet tribalism or pretending that one has superiority over others for trusting an "endorset" set?
