Not even Gamefreak scales the models properly, they have one size on the field, while they have a completely different one in battle. Also the sizes on the field are inconsistent as fuck.
The only info we have is the "height" of the Pokémon, which can mean whatever (for serpentine pokémon is length, for quadruped ones is height at the withers or length depending on the species...)
Furret walks on fours but it's shown to be able to stand on its feet (and on its tail). Charizard can walk and can soar, when it soars it extends its neck and tail to its maximum length.
So the point is that the height of a Pokémon is just a flavour text to make it look like a encyclopedia and has no real meaning as they never portray a Pokémon according to that.
But people defending that Furret has to be measured like a snake only do that so it ends being smaller than Charizard. You don't measure a rat size counting its tail.
