Gym Battles being stadium events is spectacular and they really nailed the mood on how Gym Battles really are milestones of your journey, along with using Dynamax as a sort of 'final test' even if in gameplay it wasn't a good execution.
Isle of Armor is fantastic, a lot of corners of it just ooze life and actual biome creation unlike that fucking grassland hellscape on main Galar. There is so much to do in it that it's quite literally what they should be doing for the main games since the start.
Quality of life changes revolving around changing Nature, abilities, and making it so your 12 year old Pokemon are that prepped and still usable ever since Gen fucking 3. It's a lovely way to actually introduce players to competitive because it doesn't talk down to you, nor does it give you any cheats to jump directly into competitive skill levels by having the actual skill still be gatelocked behind actually knowing the meta and what's effective.
The Currydex is a fantastic way to get players to experiment with your system of cooking and berry combining and even rewards you for doing well in the form of extra friendship values, exploring Galar for ingredients and likely finding something even more than that, and even EXP for it, making you even stronger because you bothered to use the feature that was just off to the side rather than completely mandatory.
Actually expanding on your lore rather than going ULTRA CHANGES with your DLC and not just letting us buy a 60$ game again is actually something I didn't think GF did, but they did it anyway. It may be an industry standard but it's an industry standard that's not even overly popular given most game studios love to fucking price gouge. Crown Tundra and the Isle of Armor aren't the best thing GameFreak could have done but it's quite generous and thoughtful to just have us buy a DLC pack instead of another USUM situation where fuckall even changes.
