Next year will be the 25th anniversary of the franchise. What do you think TPC and Game Freak would do to celebrate the occasion? A new mainline game for example?

Sinnoh remakes since Diamond and Pearl were anniversary games as well. It will have all of the Pokemon and they'll shill it like it's a mindblowing tiring effort achievement like Smash Ultimate and the normies and fans will obsess over it before they end up being worse remakes than ORAS

Keep in mind that DLC was meant to replace enhanced versions. Gen 7 consisted of a flagship title and an enhanced version. Gen 8 will be a flagship title and a DLC pack.

Fuck, LGPE was so bad I pushed it out of my memory. But Gen 5 was just BW and BW2, and Gen 6 was just XY and ORAS, so my point stands - Gen 8 wouldn’t be the shortest generation if Gen 9 came next year, but it would be tied for it
