why do they need to separate them based on their debut? Are you telling me that Pikachu is specifically from Kanto & Pichu is specifically from Johto?

Also, Houndour is from Kanto, not Johto.

Good luck keeping up with all the retroactive reveals and straight up retcons.

Pokemon has had a shit ton of different retcons.
Gen 2 overwrote some of gen 1, which was the overwrote by the remakes. Gen 3 got retconned into the remake. And the latest two gens opened up a different can of worms introducing the idea that there are multiple invasive species, further muddying the water.

My autistic headcanon is that Pikachu/Raichu raise their young in Johto until they evolve, then making a great migration to Kanto.
The reason Pikachu are so rare in Viridian Forest is because the Pichu take about 2 years to mature, and they haven't evolved yet during the events of gen 1 and 2

And all the unecessary retcons and reveals they keep coming up with (zigzagoon is from galar so galarian zigzagoon is actually normal zigzagoon and so called "hoennian" zigzagoon is the regional form, despite every other non hoenn region also having "hoennian" zigzagoon).
