>>44341855We don't know. It's very possible that he has a team of more than six Pokemon this time around. Considering Ash keeps all of his reserves at his lab, and Pikachu and Riolu are the only active members of his team, he could very well have anything and everything under the sun.
The general theme of Ash's team this time around is that he captures the most popular Pokemon in the franchise overall, regardless of generation. Ash even caught Galarian Farfetch'd because Sirfetch'd is the most popular Galarian regional evolution.
My opinion is that Ash will catch more Pokemon if he doesn't use past reserves (aside from Mr. Mime), and less Pokemon if he does use reserves. We don't know how this series will go.
My predictions though:
Corviknight - Capture it in either base form (Rookidee) and evolve it *very* quickly, almost Raboot quickly, into Corviknight; or capture it as a Corviknight, skipping those steps entirely
This Corviknight is capable of Gigantamax.
Toxtricity Amped - Obtain as Toxel (Goh gets a Toxel as well) as part of a research request from Sakuragi to determine how these Pokemon evolve. Ash's Toxel will be more hyperactive than Goh's. Both of these Pokemon evolve at the same time (either in the debut episode or a few episodes afterwards) into the two Toxtricity. This Toxtricity is capable of Gigantamax.
Espeon - It's my opinion that Ash will catch an Eevee here himself. This is the best time of any for him to catch Eevee. I don't think Ash will keep it as an Eevee, however, and it will evolve into Espeon, based on how his game character Red had an Espeon in Gen 2.
Volcarona - I think Ash will either capture the Volcarona in the Desert Resort Ruins (separate from the place he caught Golurk), or he will get a Larvesta or its egg from that trainer in Unova who poached the same egg from Desert Resort Ruins. (Probably the same Indiana Jones woman that Ash and Goh met with the Meditite will give Ash the egg when they meet again.)
