They are much better in singles due to singles enabling their greatest strengths in for example Skarm with hazards, Chansey/Blissey as a great pivot and the special attackers having no way to kill them unlike in VGC/Doubles where the opponent can just not attack them and focus on your other mon, or Toxapex with its longevity in singles as a great pivot mon. In VGC, their strengths just dont play really well. But more offense oriented mons in singles I feel would do OK in VGC I.E. Ace, Rilla, Aegislash, Volcarona etc. Just because they can hit hard
