The concept of making 2 legendary mons based on truth and ideals is pretty retarded, considering we just had a trio based on spirit and emotion just one gen before them.

Reshiram, Zekrom, and Kyurem are called the Tao trio for a reason. They're not specifically based on truth and ideals, that's just one thing the main duo represent as part of their overall concept.

I get the truth and ideals but the more obvious representations to me was progression and tradition. Zekrom being futuristic and mechanic, and Reshiram being natural and past orientated

Except for the part where they were designed after different fish, for different reasons, from differing habitats. In short, almost as if they never intended a Kissing Gourami to evolve into an ocean sunfish. But that would be actually thinking about what they create, instead of doing what you said they should and just have it be an evo, because they're both pink and kawaii.

Why does their involvement with these version-exclusive postgame areas really matter to you?
It is far from reaching to assume they are partly inspired by why these areas were even made in the first place.
