The evolution mechanic has the ability to make this awesome. Imagine if they limited the playable cast exclusively to three stage mons and every one started out as small and dinky but why the end of the match every one is bigger faster and stronger as the moves just get crazier and more absurd. have some pokemon have trade methods that switch up the game, like swapping character with another player mid match and i think this could be a really cool unique take on the moba.
only pokemon with three stages sounds like it would be limiting but the 103 potential lines adds plenty of potential variety.
