They were a mistake, but not such a big mistake that they need to be banned.
All they do is give stall a slight advantage. They're not a Dracovish-level mistake, where a mon can use a move stronger than a STAB Explosion with no downside.

No. Most of the time it’s just people who are discontent with defensive Pokémon and offensive pivots being more annoying to face since they won’t be pressured by hazards until you remove their boots. Also a large part of this board doesn’t really like Knock Off being near ubiquitous and now it’s even more important if you want to remove the boots

What's unfortunate is that now Knock Off isn't available on a lot of pokemon that had access to it previously since it's not an egg move nor available through tm or move tutor

Knock off is a meme.
Anything running boots will not let you knock them off and there's enough solid knock off switch ins that fit on defensive teams that it's a total non issue.
