I did a little exercise about character design in general; It's not aiming to be like anything specific.
Also we're talking fantasy character design, not irl creatures. Cool thing is, you could actually draw a peacock (fantasy or otherwise), and only have it use 3 or 4 colors- Something like blue, green, lime green, and maybe orange. Limited color palettes are also a thing and make for some really neat designs and art pieces.
