make it go bipedial like Drednaw with vines wrapping around venusaur's arms and venusaur's limbs having the inside roots being apparent like it's on steroids.
Also, it could have been better if it showed the poison typing of Venusaur more after Mega Venusaur forgot that it's half poison pokemon

It's a great design far better than the mega, enough different from the classic form to be recognized, it doesn't need to be deeply researched to be a good design.

Venusaur's flower isn't just one part of the design, it is the design. When you look at Venusaur, the flower one its back is the thing that stands out the most.

This. Exaggerating the plant by having it grow taller, branching out and growing more leaves makes more sense than just having the plant grow wider until there's nothing left to the design except for the petals of the flower.
