Finally having the patience to fish up a dratini in the safari zone and leveling it up to a dragonite to use on my team. I didn't have the energy to do it in red and it was so underleveled in crystal, but I finally had one that was a core part of my team in firered.

When HGSS came out I was very drawn to the game since I was undergoing chemo at the time and needed a nostalgia kick, I got it in Japanese since the release was earlier and forced my girlfriend at the time to learn katakana to play with me. That was a good year of my life

then not 5 minutes later i found a shiny ponyta (rapidash being one of his favorite mons) and gave it to him

But I didn't know about that shit at the time, I was just mad jealous that he got all the cool Pokemon and wanted to talk crap about him)

I used the long gap between gen III and IV to do weird things in RSE
Like breeding five entire boxes of nothing but Natu. I didn't care about their stats or anything, I just wanted some birds
Then I went to that area where you can catch Bagon and spent a literal week there, fighting and catching a shit ton of them, all of which I named Worm-1, Worm-2, Worm-3 and so on
There's probably so much more I forgot. I think I had over 700 hours on both my Sapphire and Emerald cartridge just from fucking around

Yep, this was it for me too. Johto music and having some Johto pokes available made the islands feel far away from Kanto and like a whole new area to explore. Going all the way to the end of Seven Island and getting Larvitar and Unowns was awesome as a kid.

The final fight vs Nascour is one of my favorites. He's pretty difficult if you're not prepared.

Hell, the entire Realgam Tower gauntlet is a ton of fun having to strategize and snag shadow pokemon with no breaks.

Holy shit me too lmao. Except I did this in ruby. I'm pretty sure sceptile knew cut, flash, strength, and rock smash? I'm not 100% sure but I think that was my level 100 sceptile's moveset. My friend had to loan me his rayquaza for my dumbass to beat the league.
