Yes, because Pokkén has Pokémon in it, and the appeal of video games is their brands and the process of living out certain fantasies within those fictional worlds. Actual game quality and polish doesn't matter. Like, why would I want to play a fighting game if I can't play it as the Pokémon that I love? I'd rather play a bad game starring my favorite character than a good game starring a character I don't give a fuck about.

Not that Pokkén is bad or anything, it's beautifully balanced and well polished.

I'm having moderate fun with its Story Mode. Did 120 battles or so with my buddy Chandelure so far, getting better at the game.
Have no intention of getting into the online but if that's your thing then go ahead and have fun.

For me, Pokkén is a pretty damn solid fighting game, but honestly I think there are some more fun fighting games out there, like MvC, or Smash (although it's more of a party game than a fighting game, I'll consider it one). Regardless, it's definitely something worth looking into if you're into fighting games and/or Pokémon (preferably both)

Pokken's not a great fighter, but I'd probably play it before Fighterz in the first place because Fighterz is a piece of dogshit.
I think Samsho's been a great fighter this gen, I'm more of that guy, but hey hey, I can't find anyone to play with ever, so I just default to Smash and SFV.

I still play it. The only problem is *maybe* superdash, but even then it doesn't ruin the game. If you're referring to the online then sfv and ultimate are just as bad if not worse. I think dragon rush is a great replacement for the standard grab since it adds nice combo extensions, and I love the universal bnb since it allows you to pick up a new character without having to spend a year in training mode which makes the game more fun from a casual perspective. Not to mention it doesn't take away from character uniqueness, since the universal bnb is rarely optimal and each character has a unique corner combo that utilizes their special moves and differentiates themselves from the rest of the cast.

I just don't like it, none of the characters I want to play click with me, I dislike the gameplay, the mechanics, the sound, the feel, it just all sucked to play and disappointed me immensely as a Dragon Ball & tag fighter fan. At least with Ultimate and SFV, I have characters I click with who I had an innate desire to play, and the general gameplay of both satisfied me.
