Anyway types are an incredibly vague concept and the idea of a two type limitation is an arbitrary one for gameplay purposes otherwise most pokemon would have 4 types at least

It appears to me that Pokemon's take on dragons is that of beings that contains high amounts of pure unadultered power and energy, they are the ultimate forces of nature rather than magical creatures. This may be why they resist fire, water, grass and electric (all lesser, more specific forces of nature); why they are weak against Fairy types (wich are actually magical and not tied to the laws of nature), and why they are wak against Ice (cold being a lack of energy, it drains dragon types of their pure energy).

it's true that the dragons in history had very vague qualities allowing what made a dragon to be arbitrary, I.e. both Apep and Smaug are dragons despite being very different

, but I can't accept Kingdra as a dragon. it's more seahorses than dragon... that is, uh... for example, Noivern is equal parts bat and dragon..

Red said she didn't want to discuss the taxonomy / clasdissics of dragons... maybe we can ddiscuss them here.

Probably good to refer to other media containing dragons too

Honestly I think faux dragons, and Pokémon that miss a seemingly obvious type but still have a combination that makes perfect sense are kinda cool. There is nothing wrong with Charizard being Fire-Flying or Mega Gyarados being Water-Dark and in a way it makes them more special.
