They didn't realize it was being sold back to them in a SECOND service i.e, Home. That and delusional influencers/poketubers that rely on new product to consume regardless of the quality because they don't even like Pokemon to begin with and getting overly hyped about everything is the only way to prey on zoomers

This. If we wanted to start something then we should focus our efforts on taking down Home. It already goes against everything Iwata wanted with Pokemon Bank so all we'd need to do is spread awareness.
The moment mobileshit and this kind of fuckery is no longer profitable is the moment it changes. We need to show them where Pokemon really matters.

Doesn't have to be about catching them all though. I just want to transfer my bros up to the next game but the majority of people buying SwSh don't give a shit about transferring between games. I don't want my favourite Pokemon to be stuck on the cloud at the mercy of me remembering to pay the subscription each year but GF only cares about getting me to pay that yearly fee so I don't know if there will even be a next game where I can transfer them all up safely and leave them there.

The national dex wasn't in SM either and it was only a minor problem since that's specifically an issue with not being able to collect the entries for every pokemon (catch them all)
The issue is that, unlike in SM, pokemon that aren't in the regional dex aren't even obtainable in game even through the transfer system. There's no excuse for this whatsoever.

It's why they can't actually provide well thought out opinions or valid counterarguments when the things they follow are rightfully criticized. Also there are almost a 1000 Pokemon, that is overwhelming for casuals, having less seems more manageable for them because unlike you or me they don't have a living dex and 10+ or 20+ years of having followed the series.

Also it was obvious they would add shit in with DLC and patches, as they have, reducing the HALVED DEX aspect.
