Tried doing something like this with Totodile in HGSS using his rules. Best I got so far is I managed to get Lance down to his last 2 Pokemon while I'm at level 71. It's definitely possible without having to grind wild Pokemon, but Red is going to be impossible.

You have to remember that he uses massive speedup in these runs so they only really ever take him like 3-4 hours to complete. Also he 'speedruns' the game so it's even faster than a normal person would play.
Of course still extremely autistic he's planning to play through gen 1 60 times or whatever it is
