Would Item Clause even make that much of a difference nowadays besides restricting boots to 1 user? We’re not in gen 2-3 where every fucking Pokemon ran leftovers

precisely. Limiting scarfs and lefties would've been a potential godsend for playability in earlier gens, but there's so many fuckin items and alternatives now (lookin at you pinch berries) that limiting boots would be all it does.
