butterfree( still lets it go but it comes back in unova and the caterpi ash helped there turns out to be his butterfrees kid and he takes butterfree back)
Pidgeot(leaves it for like up until after alola and takes it back after coming back to kanto as he is now)
bulbasaur->ivysaur(have it evolve in the evolution episode but decide to stay as an ivysaur)
Charizard(would be regular charizard)
squirtle->wartortle(have the entire squirtle squad evolve in that ep against the wartortles)
Krabby->kingler(have it be more involved in the story especially after wartortle leaves with officer jenny)
grimer->muk(basically have it evolve the ep he catches it and it'll be fine)
Primeape(have primeape stay with ash and not wanna leave him and force ash to keep him)
tauros(have him catch about 10, gag is still implimented but 30 tauros is too much can also open it up to more obvious differences and is easier to manage/write)

herracross(Since it was fully evolved in the og series it doesn't have to become it's repurposed evo mega)
bayleef->meganium(always thought it should've fully evolved since it loved ash so much)

totodile->croconaw(break the water curse)
hoothoot->noctowl(keep it shiny, keep the story basically the same except have it evolve like 2-3 eps later)
