Broken how? Gen 1 is perfectly playable. Gen 1 gets a lot of crap for its glitches but they're easy to avoid.
>psychic is too strongYes Alakazam is quite the bossmon, honestly it's kind of based how one pokemon can be so threatening in a playthrough. There's nothing stopping you from using a psychic type too. Hypno is tanky enough to fight back.

Gen 1's outdated mechanics are honestly part of the appeal. If you ever just want a janky and fun experience then gen 1 are the games for you. I unironically like the Special stat too. Plus the simplistic story is good as well.
