In another universe, everything remains the same, but Venusaur is now mainly a bipedal Pokemon that only sometimes stands on 4 legs. How do you feel about this?

I suspect that Ivysaur Blue sprite and a shit fuckton of other Blue sprites was recycled from very early Gen 2
In the SpaceWorld 97 demo
You can see Parasect's back STANDING UPWARDS
MOTHERFUCKING PARASECT IS STANDING UPWARDS
and it's colors look more like the Blue sprite than the front sprite

making it look like it's from the same time as the blue Ivysaur sprite

could be likely if Green's Ivysaur was biped like in Blue version.
but funny enough, Green version has more accurate Ivysaur than Blue which was supposed to fix the sprites.

Blue's sprites are definitely from pre-Spaceworld Gen 2 regardless

Pokemon 2 was being developed at the same time as Blue actually though, and even earlier than Blue

February 1996 - Pokemon 2 is in development
July 1996 - Pokemon Blue is in development
August 1996 - Pokemon 2 announced with Ho-Oh
September 1996 - Pokemon Blue announced

Would make sense if Pokemon Blue borrowed sprites from Pokemon 2, the mother project.
