Beta does not look abominable or threatening, also the tuft of hair is out of place when everything else is sharp or angled. It's anatomy is better, but the design doesn't choices don't compliment the idea.

The beta's beard being out of place with the rectangular hair is an objective fact.
The beta eyes being less menacing than the official design's is an objective fact. It's well documented that small pupils result in a scarier appearance than large uguu moeshit ones.
The beta's legs being badly proportioned for a creature that's supposed to be large and bulky is an objective fact.
