Ice is terrible. It only resists itself.
Why doesn't Ice resist Electric? Ice is a bad conductor of electricity, the free movement of charge is hindered by the rigidity of the solid structure.

Wouldn't it make more sense for Ice to resist Dragon?

Dragon already got nerfed by fairys.

Scald can be switched to be super effective against ice types just like how Freeze Dry is to water types. But they should resist each other beyond that

Unless it’s hot water, water isn’t going to melt ice very quickly. Even less so if it’s a large body of ice or super cold. Ice should resist water except for scald, which should instead do double damage much like freeze dry does double damage to water.

Talking purely from a balance perspective and not lore, it should resist flying, ghost, and dark.
We don't have enough counterplay for those types.

Ice resisting electric attacks makes sense for both ice-crystal and furry-arctic mons.
I approve.

However, Japanese-lore-wise, Ghost should resist cold, but take neutral damage from bug attacks.

Also GFreak needs to decide what the Ground type really is, bc if it encompasses thick skinned and dusty mons then they should resist ice, or at least be neutral against it if "thick skinned" also encompasses lizards and crocodiles etc.

Regardless of what is done with the Ground type, Rock and Steel should also differentiate. This can be done by making Rock the "Ceramic" type, brittle but resisting cold,heat,electricity, whereas Steel would now be weak to cold,heat, electricity.

Biology wise, Bugs are weak to cold, more than heat even.

This type of argument is why the current Type System doesn't make sense.
"Hurr durr fighters have the strength to crumble steel"
How would you know how to scale them?

This is why I made a Revised Type Chary of my own to use in a future rom hack. The revised system categorises pokemon based on their Environment! There now all ice types are weak to heat, whereas all Arid types are weak to cold.
