Charizard Vs Blastoise. come to think of it i cant really recall any real rivalries among just pokemon except Charizard and Blastoise. first release you either liked Charizard or Blastoise. after that you just kinda liked pokemon. Maybe Mewtwo vs mew idk.

What exactly is Blastoise's role/ gimmick? How are you supposed to use him? (Before and after his rain dish ability)

Charizard has high special attack and speed, so he hits fast and hard.

Blastoise on the other hand?

It has the best defensive typing of the starters, takes hits well and hits fairly hard. Venusaur’s role is the most technical, decent all-around stats and can abuse stuff like Sleep Powder.
