With all the backlash Gen 8 has so far, does Game Freak, TPCi, or even Nintendo even care about all the slander it gets? Will Pokemon ever be good again? :’(

Masuda in particular was personally stressed before release, because his Twitter was harassed like crazy. He won't forget that feeling.
He may not be the top guy in charge, but his opinions are an ever present feeling in the office of devs, and that's the best we could have hoped for realistically. It was going to sell a lot anyway.

There are still humans making the games at game freak and we know they were stressed out by everything. Hopefully that tells them that something is clearly wrong with their shit games and that that's reflected at some point in the future.

Everyone is just mad because they were expecting a full open world Pokémon game. Gen 8 isn’t perfect but it’s definitely better than Gen 7 graphically. With the wild area, I have hope that GF is experimenting and wants to eventually transition to the open world style.

Nope. If the sales of gen 8 have told GF anything, it's that they dont need to put any sort of effort in to rake in retarded amounts of cash. When it comes to stuff like video games, any publicity is good publicity, so #bbnd just made the games sell better.

Everyone at the office noticed. What they feel now is relief. But you can be sure they will have meetings to prevent that from happening while simultaneously repeating the sales success.

Sword and Shield’s problem is beyond just the Wild Area though. However you look at it, the main game is just plain boring and looks pretty bad. Many people I know that bought the game dropped it before even completing the box art legendary quest in the postgame. Compared to everything else on the Switch, the experience cannot compare. It feels like it should’ve been something for the 3DS. And the DLC really doesn’t help much.

The worst part is I really want to like it and play it. The past two Gens were flawed in different ways, but I always somehow found something to do, even if it was as mundane as just doing online. But this game is just so difficult to be engaged with that whenever I boot it up, I sigh after a few moments, close it and play or do something else...

I have a feeling they believe they DID change the formula and made a big effort by adding Dynamax, Raid battles and the Wild Area. If anything, this success will make them experiment even more, not less.

What is a good Pokémon game anyway? Is it the region layout? Because the single-player is always going to be easy. You can only get so much enjoyment out of beating dumb AI. And then there's competitive which the majority doesn't care about because "my favorite isn't viable :((("

It sold a lot so if they do react to the numbers appropiately this time, it wont be good again.

Think about it this way, they knew they were going to make a controversial decision, and when you do that, you have to bring your A-game to shut people off with other features and THEN lazy out. This "A-game" was, apparently, SWSH which happened to sell very well, so its probably going to be the best game we're getting in a while.

There's two problems with this.
1-GF and TPC do care about pushing competitive as most of the more pushed features(mainly dynamax) are around battling.
2-Masuda specifically promised every single mon would be viable.
