To be fair, Pokemon can't all move quickly. They basically go at the same pace that they do in Camp. And you also don't have to run everywhere. Just have a chill time looking for Diglett or whatever.

I dont know how they fucked them up so much when the system works just fine on LGPE, and is something most RPG can do as is just moving a model around the player it doesnt even need to adjust the animations.

LGPE's a totally flat environment at a camera angle that doesn't need to account for slopes, stairs and the like, so it's only natural it'd look perfectly fine there while most Pokemon shit the bed in SWSH.

Because LGPE's world is a basic tile-set world and generally smaller, the movement speed of your character is slower than in SwSh, thus in SwSh you are more likely to outspeed the monster following you.

The choice was either 'make some monsters move MUCH faster than the logically should or have them spawn and despawn behind you"

Everyone on gen IV had problems with personal space. In order to talk people had to bump their heads.

Unfinished DP still had following Pokemon, at a 30 dollar price tag.
Base (also unfinished) Sword and Shield has no following pokemon with a 60 dollar pricetag. You need to pay an additional 30 bucks to have following Pokemon.
