The trubbish line has to be my favourite poison pokemon so far. It's an adorable trash rabbit. I wasn't always a fan of it but the anime changed my mind when I learned it stops smelling when it makes a friend. The episode was really cute with a school of kids making friends with a trubbish by building a trash fortress of sorts.

Poison types feel underrated on the whole to me. It’s hard to pick a favorite but I think it’s Salandit. Such a cute little lizard. I don’t dislike Salazzle, but I just really resonate with Salandit’s design. Went out of my way to get a shiny one who’s male. A lot of people would consider him worthless since he can’t evolve, but I still love him anyway!

Why did Kanto have so many Poison-types? Industrialization? We had literally living toxicity like Muk and Koffing so I always headcanon Kanto as very polluted? Beedrill, Nidos, Vileplume, Venusaue, Gengar, Tentacruel, Poison everywhere.

I think it may have been due to there not being a dark type introduced so Team Rocket used mainly poison pokemon. But it's weird I also saw Kanto as some polluted, dangerous region. It was so strange to me to be a presumed 10 yr old just exploring the world and stopping crime.

We can't assume that the dex entries from the game has more prevalance over the anime. If it was the case that muk and trubbish were so toxic you couldn't touch them why can we pet them and feed them in amie/refresh/camp?

Basically you can't have the dex entries saying grimer, trubbish and even macargo stating trainers can't touch them or they'll be hurt but then in areas like amie/refresh/camp you touch them directly, play with them and feed them.

Eh, I like the more snake-like visuals, especially the rattlesnake tail. The idea came after listening to a podcast about Heracles and his trials. Hydregon being Dragon/poison makes more sense than Dragon/dark. More in-tune with the source material.
