Eo is attempting to prevent that situation by repeatedly getting up Stealth Rock and whittling down his Charizard with solar power and toxic so that if it claims a kill, it will double down and die as well or will fail to kill something because the sun isn't up.
Ima needs to carefully manage his sun turns while keeping Stealth Rock off and keeping his Torkoal/Chansey/Charizard healthy.
Despite how it looks it's a very high stake situation where every single turn mattered and each play had to be played correctly to win.
