But we'd end up with a Betheda Fallout situation, where a company who has no idea whatsoever what made the original games work gets ahold of it and tries to reinvent the wheel.
We'd end up with an action RPG with the Kanto 151, a smattering of other pokes, and the new company's 151 that are inferior in every way.
What I'd prefer is if some Japanese dev goes to Game Freak with a pitch for a spinoff RPG, ala Colosseum, where it's clearly a Pokemon game but is just so radically different to anything Game Freak would ever even consider. And they get the go-ahead to include new mons into the roster, and it becomes enough of a success for TPCI to commission a series of games out of it, that are released in alternating years with the GF series.
Those new mons would never appear in the dex of a Game Freak-led Pokemon title (let's be realistic here), but every few years we get a game set in the spinoff series and that company includes their roster.
