The worst "enemies" yet for a pokemon game. This isn't low effort, this is negative effort. What was even the fucking point?

They were meant to be akin to Team Skull, comic relief antagonist while the bigger bad lurked in the background.

The issue for me is that both times the series have done this have never topped the original Colosseum version of it. Skull/Yell are more "amusing" than Snagem was, but at the cost of plot relevancy and seeing the "twist" coming a mile away. The red herring is too obvious, whereas Colosseum didn't bother and still handled it in a more competent fashion.

Team Flare had an entire underground complex, and a cafe in Lumiose as a front. Their choice of pokemon was generic villain fare. Xerosic was a memorable enough design for me.
They're still better than Team Yell. Literally 2 pokemon used by Yell grunts aren't weak to Fighting. Not two species, two pokemon. Their hideout is a repurposed gym and their leader is a gym leader. If Team Yell didn't exist, you'd still go to Spikemuth, still fight their roster of Dark types, and still fight Piers. That's what I would call forgettable, their entire existence is immaterial to the story.

You had ghost tower, hideout under casino and silph co which all had purpose in order to progress story. Giovanni as team leader was just a flavor to make final badge more memorable.

It's bc you never battle or learn about proper leaders and admins for the team. They're just copies of eachother.
Team skull had Guzma, Plumeria and the 3 grunts that had names and different personalities. All you get for character development with Team Yell is "we love marnie we must block traffic for her." They are incredibly dull, even if they are not intended to be the real enemy.
