Irish kids spent ages trying to make Golduck become Mewtwo. Looking back at it, I can't fathom what made it spread because it didn't even come with instructions... or any fake video, but it was the most popular one.
Also one I don't know WHY is a rumor/falsehood when it actually is true, when you hold Down and A on the GBA it actually WILL catch the Pokémon faster because 1: Spaghetti coding 2: the Device itself is spaghetti coded so it doesn't work virtually (emulation) and it only works if it's the regular Pokéball. You're just manipulating RNG in Spaghetti coding, not that hard to believe when you think of it like that. Similar manipulation methods unlock Missingno.
So I don't get why people just didn't believe it actually worked. It does work, I've done it.
It doesn't work on emulators because that's perfected software pretending to be hardware.
Use the actual hardware and Hold down the Down arrow key and mash the A button.
Not that fucking difficult to believe in a game where you can summon Nintendo's mistake.
