Playing Moon Black 2 (hack of B2, obv), which has a lot of the mons up to gen 7. Some mons were given new forms, which I found cool desu. Dunno if you'd consider that to be fakemon, but try it.

Seeing newer mons in sprite form makes me cum.

Advanced Adventure (LG hack) has you start with a Pikachu or Togepi depending on your char gender and the first gym has a level 9 Tauros, so probably that one.

Crystal Clear fails on a fundamental level.
I tried to get into it, saw that you could fly anywhere from the start AND that wild Pokemon didn't scale, so you can just throw Pokeballs at high level Pokemon until you get it and then break the entire's game "progression" in 10 minutes.
Shockslayer gives zero fuck about any kind of game design and his response to this is literally "so don't play that way", so the hack is a complete joke.

I'm guessing it's not possible to edit wild encounter data in order to make it scale?
If that's case any "open world" Pokemon games is destine to fail unless you make all the encounters suck.

I'd say it's as possible to do that as it is to program character customization or following Pokemon into a gen 2 game. So, very hard, but doable considering the code is disassembled.
