I hadn't originally planned to use Aipom, but them I learned that I could evolve it in HGSS, and Ambipom gets decent coverage with the punches. I may end up dropping Ambipom or Nidoqueen by the end of the game though, because I need a Flying type for travel.

My Rising Ruby team. If it isn't obvious, I am a team aqua grunt in this run. I have a Kyogre waiting in the PC, but I will only use low BP moves with it for balance.

Heracross is a bit overkill, unless you haven't used it yet. But Aipom is nice. You don't have to swap it for a flyer, for most of my games I don't have a flying type on me, it really isn't that necessary. You just need to go to the PC if you must fly somewhere.

You can only bring as many Pokémon as the next gym leader has & they have to be equal in level to the gym leader’s. Also set battle type and no in battle items. Basically trying to up the difficulty.

I use drifblim for coverage and stall.

I see. I always play that way, bar the Nuzlocke rules, tried once and am not a fan. I can't imagine playing not on set and using healing items mid battle. It destroys the little difficulty the game can offer.

HGSS, my first monotype team. Not sure what to get for the sixth spot, I feel Kingler is underrated and despite being a monotype it's nice as a physical attacker, but I'd miss on Kingdra.

Honestly I wish they'd just remove healing in battle altogether, for you and for enemies. It creates that stupid minigame where you have to constantly make sure you don't accidentally do too much damage and put them in heal range, disadvantaging yourself by just playing the game the way it's intended.

Exactly my thoughts. I want the game to be difficult, but I would still prefer that no one could use full restore and so on. I really hate the "just a little more damage so I can kill in the next hit without the opponent healing". The worst thing about it is that there is an algorithm or something in more recent game, and sometimes the AI doesn't heal, and it feels like I wasted my time and health for nothing.

The Torchic is obviously the HM slave, you can see it by the number of discs it has and the level. As for your team, you can use a physical attacker Kingdra.

I still have no idea how the healing AI works. Sometimes they heal every time they fall below a threshold, regardless of the situation. Sometimes they randomly hold back on healing the same Pokemon more than once and hold their potion for their ace. And the other day I was playing Emerald and Gym Leaders started using two potions per battle instead of just one, something that I have literally never seen before despite Emerald being the game I've played most out of them all

Ironically I didn't like my starter at the beginning of this, I picked it to try something new. Same for Slugma, just keeping it until I found a replacement, unfortunately he hasn't done much yet, hence the name.

Currently playing Prismatic Moon rebalanced and did the first few battles in Po Town. Golisopod is way stronger without emergency exit holding him down and having shell armor instead. I plan on swapping Vikavolt for Kommo-o later.

By the time you get to Wake's gym and are able to access pastoria, you can go in the daycare and there's a cowgirl npc named "traynee". If you talk to her there's a drop down menu for each stat and an additional one with level training. There are 3 difficulties for level grinding, and i think 7 for each ev stat. Extremely helpful.

A couple of weeks ago I met up with a friend of mine who I hadn't seen in a while and we brought out copies of Black and White so we could battle. I didn't win a single battle.

Lapras was the one I got from Silph Co in Fire Red. Meganium, Noctowl, and Gligar are all from Colloseum. Infernape was my starter in Diamond, and the Zoroark was traded to me by the friend I played with. It isn't a particularly good team, but it was still my team.

Thanks, it's not amazing by any means, and Incineroar and Seviper especially have been lagging, but I wanna commit to taking Seviper to the end of the game.

If it means anything, the rebalanced version of Prismatic Moon changes a lot of pokemon's stats, including Decidueye's (100 Spa -> 70 SpA, 100 SpD -> 90 SpD, 70 Spe -> 110 Spe) and they can all get new abilities and moves. Decidueye gets jump kick, solar blade, knock off and psycho cut. Incineroar gets morning sun, close combat, blaze kick and parting shot, and Primarina gets calm mind, recover and draining kiss. Rebalanced is the main reason I have Seviper and Vikavolt and later Kommo-o.

Based mono grass. I've always wanted to try more monotype challenges, but I've only done two so far (poison in Y, dark in Ultra Moon). I was thinking of doing another poison one for FR/LG but I don't think I'd ever beat Sabrina. I might try normal or something for Emerald. Best of luck to you against Winona. I think if you can get something to outspeed Altaria, you might be able to hinder it with rock tomb if you've still got that TM. I haven't played Emerald in a very long while so I don't remember how many resources you'll have up to that point besides like, Cradily.

Mono Type runs are the best. I do them for most types in all games. I use mons of their debut gen the most and fill the rest of the spot(s) with rare/unique pokemon from other gens. That HGSS pic up there is my HGSS Fire Mono Type run. I use Legendaries and Mythicalsof their debut gen. Try to double down on type combos. Like one of my Dark runs in OR had Cacturne and Shiftry.

When I did a Grass run in R/S she was the only GL i struggle with. It frustrated me, but I think I had critical hits on her and beat her by the 7th time trying. Get Cradily, it helps. And by "(sp?)" I meant that I wasn't sure of the spelling of her name(Winona's). Forgot for a minute. But GBAsp are comfy. Micros are good too if you wanna play outdoors/ on the go.

I downlpaded Happy Chick through an APK. It's kind of like an emulator app store. It hs a list of hanes and whe you choose what to play it automatically downloads the ROM and emulator needed. For example, I found HG in the list and it downloded Drastic at the same time.

I can try that. I have 252 Attack and Speed. The main issue he has is that against a lot of physical attackers, many of them carry a fighting type move that's capable of wrecking his shit. I've just been swapping around life orb, incinium and assault vest on him with flare blitz, eq, lariat and close combat. I think it also just comes down to team synergy. I'll probably give him some kind of rock move in place of earthquake or close combat because I'm relying on Kommo-o for more fighting coverage (I plan on running a special set with shell smash). Thanks

Doing a monosteel run of Moon. Swapped my starter for a Piplup egg but everyone else I captured wild. Currently about to go get the Yungoos back from Team Skull. Everyone is low 30s save for Doublade and Empoleon who just evolved. So far it's my most fun team yet.
