Not all magnets themselves are steel. They just attract steel. Minerals + Electricity are two key components in Magnetism. Rock/Electric Probopass with Magnet Pull ability to trap Steel type Pokemon is the best representation of a magnet.

It is the opposite of its Zen Mode form. Regular Darmanitan thrashes about and has a lot of fighting moves as well as access to belly drum which would aesthetically fit him being a fighting type all the more.
